Before planes, trains and automobiles, if you were not near a river or on the ocean…getting from place “A” to place “B” came down to two choices: ride a horse, or just walk. Before long technology took care of everything. But there are still places folks are using just horses or mules to get things done. The mule in particular has had a major impact on America. Plowing fields, pulling canal boats, packing freight into high mountains. Even today and especially today, there are many reasons to admire this animal.
